Help fund Chrome's cancer treatment.
Canterbury
Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
My name is Angela and on behalf of Chrome (Chris Adam) and his family I am sharing his journey as he continues the battle against cancer.
In October 2021, Chrome began a challenging journey when he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Despite undergoing radium treatment in December 2021 and a major surgery to remove 30cm of his bowel, his battle continued. Following a successful operation, Chrome had three months of precautionary chemotherapy.
However, in December 2022, a routine scan revealed that the cancer had spread to his liver.
Further chemotherapy was needed plus a drug (Cetuximab) that was not funded in New Zealand. The chemotherapy and drug combined appeared to be working really well until the devastating news in February of this year which showed the cancer had come back in his liver.
Now, Chrome requires more treatment involving two drugs (Lonsurf and Bevacizumab) neither of which are funded in New Zealand. The cost is a staggering $129,500 for up to twelve months of treatment.
Chrome doesn't feel comfortable asking for help, even though he understands the gravity of this situation. On his behalf I have created this page along with the support of other friends and family who want to help Chrome, Jo and their family.
Whether it's a message of support or a donation, every gesture will be greatly appreciated.
I will diligently monitor this page for Chrome, sharing all messages of support with him and he will be deeply grateful.
I am a family friend. We kindly ask that you do not share this page via social media. You can copy the link and email or text to family and friends.
Any funds received will be used solely to pay for Chromes treatment (Lonsurf and Bevacizumab).
Funds to be paid to Jo, wife of Chris.
Next round of treatment has started 21 March 2024
