Support Ciara’s Shakespeare Journey to London!
Kia ora, my name is Ciara, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected for SGCNZ’s Young Shakespeare Company 2025, an incredible opportunity that will take me to London to train and perform at Shakespeare’s Globe!
Our Titus Andronicus performance won the SGCNZ Regional Festival, and went on to take home three awards at the SGCNZ National Festival.
It was from this performance that I was selected for the National Shakespeare School Production (NSSP) in Dunedin, a week-long programme of intensive Shakespeare training.
From there, I was selected for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: becoming a member of SGCNZ's Young Shakespeare Company! YSC is a group of selected young NZ actors who are heading over to London to immerse ourselves in Shakespearean performance and education on The Globe stage, working with world-renowned professionals.
I’m so excited to be part of this international journey of growth, connection, and creativity!
I’m nearly there with fundraising, but I need a little help. Funds raised will go towards flights and accommodation organised by SGCNZ. Any contribution you can make - big or small - would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for your support!

Post-Trip Update: The Globe was a DREAM 30 July 2025
Hello Everyone!
It has now been home two weeks since my journey over to the UK, and it was absolutely out of this world! With countless sights to see, rehearsals to attend, and amazing plays to watch, it was truly a once in a lifetime trip. I could not have conceived before I left how much this trip would teach me, change me, and leave me with. The whole process was pure magic, with the peak moment being performing on The Globe stage as part of the SGCNZ Youth Shakespeare Company. There was something very unique and dear to my heart created on stage that night, that I so deeply wish you could've been there to witness. Thank you, for making this possible for me with your support. It has shown me how wide and beautifully full of opportunity this world is. Shakespeare himself puts it well: "We know what we are, but know not what we may be". I will carry this, and all of it, with me for the rest of my life. So sincerely, thank you.
Thanks Paula :)
