Raising funds for Cindy’s funeral
Waikato
Kua hinga te tōtara I Te Waonui a Tāne- The tōtara in the great forest of Tāne has fallen.
Cindy Paurini, a 51 year old mother, daughter, nanny, sister, aunty and niece was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. She received radiation, chemotherapy and then had a mastectomy In April 2019. In February of this year, a CT scan revealed that the cancer had metastasised to Cindy’s liver, stomach and bones.
Cindy fought a courageous battle to the bitter end, holding on to life for the sake of her tamariki (children) and mokopuna (grandchildren). Sadly, Cindy’s battle came to an end and she found her wings on the 13/04/21, surrounded by those she loved most.
Cindy leaves behind her 5 children, who are now left to face the reality of life without their mum. Cindy’s tamariki have rallied around, working extra shifts to help cover her living expenses over the course of her illness. Her children are now faced with the cost of her funeral.
Cindy was not the type of person to ask for help, her whanau describe her as tough, stubborn and independent but she needs her village around her whanau now, supporting them every step of the way. Whether it is a dollar or a message of support, it would mean so much to Cindy’s whanau to know others are thinking of them.
This page has been set up to try and relieve some of the financial strain so that Cindy’s whanau can focus on grieving the loss of their mum in the days, weeks and months ahead.
Any donations are received with love and gratitude and will be used towards funeral costs.
I am a friend of the whanau and have set this page up with their permission.
