Dental Treatment For Clarence

  • Clarence's Recovery Plan

      21 October 2014

East Coast Bays Vets has recommended ongoing dental care for Clarence at home (hopefully soon at his forever home!). Including brushing of Clarence's chompers, plus feeding a diet designed to prevent buildup of tartar. Clarence is very sweet and rather mischievous young man, and we hope he finds his forever home very very soon! • Clarence's Treatment

      20 October 2014

Clarence visited the lovely people at East Coast Bays Veterinary Clinic for a dental treatment, involving ultrasonic scaling, polishing of teeth and assessing for peridontal disease. He was under general anaesthesia, and the Vet found very red and swollen gums as well as teeth that were rotting, broken and with holes in them. She ended up doing 10 extractions, and he needed stitching after the back molars came out. Clarence came back to his foster home with antibiotics and pain relief. The vets expected him to lose his appetite... well that didn't happen, in fact Clarence is such a tough cookie, that the first thing he did when he got home, was to use what teeth he had left to puncture a ping pong ball! Today, Clarence had a follow up check up and we're pleased to say that his recovery is going very well. Clarence is one lucky cat! - Foster Mum Emily
