Help keep the smile on Clarice's face as she seeks treatment for her cancer

  • Clarice is improving every day!

      15 November 2022

Update from Ross: Her voice has not fully returned, however we have found a speech therapist who will help Clarice with voice. She has returned to swimming in the sea almost every day.

She rarely wears her wig and is rocking the cap and hoody look.

She continues with Vitamin C infusions which are great. Energy levels are slowly improving with some days where she is happy to walk to the beach and then swim and walk back and she is enjoying Delia's visit.

I am so appreciative of all your love, words, prayers, healing vibes sent my way.

And also deep thanks for supporting me on the give a little page Virginia Mitchell she and Martin and Marcia set up. I'm learning to be good at receiving. 😊 I really appreciate this.

It's almost 3 weeks since the surgery on my vocal cord. I had an adverse reaction to something, maybe the anaesthetic so my poor liver function tests rocketed and I got worse for a few days.

But once home 2 weeks ago I, started a nutrition protocol from the legendary Kaytee Boyd in Auckland who's supported thousands with cancer, including those going through chemo, to enhance its effects and reduce side effects as possible.

Including IV Vitamin C 2 to 3 x weekly, shitake mushroom, evening primrose oil, omega 3 fish oils, certain B vitamins, Magnesium, vitamin D, acety- l carnitine, ashwagandha, super greens, a biome mix all cleverly put in a delicios smoothie.

And my neck and face swelling reduced visibly even in the first week of this. And continues more this week.

Energy is rising, walking on the beach barefoot

    and breathing is way better.

I still have a weak voice, more of a loud whisper!

I've had 2 chemo using Paclitaxel with the second today, planned weekly. If I respond to it, the effects are seen from about week 4. I got very tired a couple of days after the first but so far so good. During chemo I constantly suck ice cubes to reduce blood flow to the mouth with the aim of reducing mucositis. You can suck bone broth ice cubes if game!

I looked into a penguin cold cap for my head which is -30 degrees c for about 6 hours pre, during and post chemo. That can preserve your hair. But it really needs to be used from the start. So I pulled the pin on that coming from Perth, Australia. p.s you have to cover ears and edge of hair line from frost bite as you'd imagine!

Alongside this for me, as important, if not more so are these practices including my mindset. So observing, seeing and changing default ways of thinking and emotional response, prayer, meditation and visualization / visioning are a key part of my daily practice.

And I thank Ross, Ximena Marcia and Jax for my divine feet and body massages. And Tane for her company and delicious chicken soup.

I have all siblings coming out to visit from UK and Canada to join Marcia and I here, in November. Our ma Rosanna is not so well in England and needing their daily support, so the others are heading over to see Ma before then.

A busy time juggling life for the Mounts. They are amazing!

In Christchurch, even after 23 years here, I still am in awe of the hospital backdrop of the river and botanical gardens. It's spring here and this is me today post chemo standing amongst stunning blooms including masses of bluebells.

    Thankyou all, much love xxx
