Relocating Classie Brigade To Australia
Rangiora, Canterbury
I have been presented with an incredible job opportunity, which requires me to relocate to Australia.
There are many things ‘holding’ me to NZ but Classie is by far the biggest one. There is no way for me to put in words how much I love him and how I will to do everything in my power to continue our journey.
Little did I know starting at a racing stable would introduce me to my best mate and lead on to so many wonderful adventures and memories.
Classie had a stellar career on the race track, winning 21 races, including winning the Kaikōura cup three years in a row, setting a New Zealand record and earning close to $600,000! He’s a superstar in his own right.
Once retiring off the track in 2022, I was very fortunate to be presented with the opportunity to take over the reins, and retrain him as a riding horse, to have Classie in my own paddock was beyond exciting and surreal.
Classie and I have had so much, from hacking around the beach/ forest, swimming in the summer, riding out on race days, showing (winning Champion SB!) and everything in between.
Classie has made my heart so beyond full having his face at my doorstep would make my world.
Over 400k people online have followed our journey, we have become advocates for SB lives after racing. I’m always so proud and excited to share our adventures together.
To even potentially have the opportunity to continue our story is beyond surreal.
All support is so beyond appreciated. I can’t thank everyone enough.
The funds will be entirely used for the cost of moving Classie to Australia (trucking/ flights)
Classie Aussie Update 22 August 2024
Thank you so much to everyone for their support and generosity, Classie arrived safe and sound in Australia 2 months ago, much to my surprise. My partner Luke and his Dad decided to fly him over and surprise me with him upon my discharge from Hospital 😢🥰.. the best surprise of a lifetime.
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, Classie will forever have a home with me, he means the utter world to me and I’m just so speechless that our time gets to continue.
Thank you to Mae Reeves for looking after him in New Zealand while I was in Australia and unconscious, Laura Dennehy for allowing him to stay at your place (my previous home) Copper Creek Quarter Horses, Majestic Horse Floats and IRT for bringing him over.
I’ll forever be in debt to so many of you.
Classie was and continues to be my proudest accomplishment, here’s to many more years together.
Thank you so much Jacinta & Xari! Thank you for offering Xari such an amazing home and for all your support x
So generous! Thank you so much Pip xx
