A top notch indoor climbing gym in Te Anau, what's not to love?! Let's make it happen!!!

We are raising funds to help provide for the construction of a top-tier indoor climbing facility in the Real Journeys Fiordland Community Events Center in Te Anau. The facility will contain over 300 square meters of climbing surface, cater to all abilities of climber, and offer regular climbing training opportunities.

It will not be a commercial facility, and access fees for the wall will be aimed at covering operating costs and not generating a profit. That being said the aim is to build a fantastic wall that will appeal to young kids and professional climbers alike and something that will make the community proud!

Use of funds

Funds will be used for the initial construction of the wall by Uprising Climbing Gyms or to purchase the startup climbing equipment (ropes, harnesses, etc). Donations will not exceed the full amount of the project.

We Built a Wall! 16 September 2021

For those who supported us that don't yet know, our project was successful. Te Anau now has an awesome climbing wall, and it's been busy since day one. Since opening in May of 2021, we've seen more than 600 unique users and thousands of hours of use, and we're just getting started!
