Clint and I want to say that we are incredibly grateful to everyone for your kind words, generosity and support through this challenging time. We are very blessed to have so many amazing people behind us as we start a new chapter in our lives. Clint's recovery and rehab is progressing as it should and he continues to improve everyday. - Especially because he doesn't enjoy sitting on the couch! He is definitely determined and a fighter. We look forward to the day when we can say thank you in person and celebrate life together. We love you all - Rach & Clint.

  • update from Rach...26th Aug

      27 August 2020

Well it's been 4 weeks today since Clint had his cardiac arrest up at work on Whakapapa and was choppered to Waikato Hospital. What a rollercoaster of 4 weeks it's been! I honestly don't know where to start or how to say how incredibly grateful I am to everyone who has been behind us - sending all their love, prayers and positive energy our way. It definitely made a difference! I'm blown away to know that we are supported by all you amazing people and I'm overwhelmed by the generosity of so many when times are tough. Clint is strong and he's getting better everyday, his recovery will be slow as he has been through so much but he's pushing to get out and go for a walk everyday. I know many of you are wanting to come and visit - that is ok but please know that we are all social distancing as he still has pneumonia and it is very easy for Clint to pick up bugs. He also gets tired very easily so needs lots of rest. We'll have to leave the hugs and bro shakes for now, but hopefully not too long! All my love to each and every one of you from my whanau to yours ❤️ you guys rock!

    Monday 17th Aug

    Good Evening Clint's Army..!

News from Waikato is all very positive. The Bro is getting stronger by the day and lots of hui happening with doctors, pysio's, OT's etc and plans being developed to get him back on the road to recovery.

The NO VISITING rules remain for now.

This week the goal is to get Paka back to Natty P and the Kids. So it is all very positive and very soon we can switch our energy from caring / loving / supporting stage to giving him a wee bit of banter he requires / deserves / needs..!

  • Sunday 9th Aug update

      9 August 2020

    Kia Ora Clint's Army...

Many of you are following the updates on facebook but here is yesterdays update for those who may have missed it.

Update for today : been a day of huge progress for Clint. Started out in the ICU again, but was in an armchair after breakfast. After some final sign offs he got moved to a cardiac recovery ward - the enhanced recovery unit. Felt pretty good seeing him get pushed down the hallway to be with people firmly on the road to recovery. Clint had a big smile and bright eyes as he got to see the outside world after so long in the windowless ICU. He’s in his new ward for a few more days before the next step down. Almost no machines left- just a heart monitor still on. Talking and as keen as anything to escape as soon as he can. He’s a determined patient!
