Help Us Keep Five Vulnerable Whānau Safe in Treatment

  • Urgent call to action

      17 March 2026

Today we are facing an urgent and heartbreaking challenge.

Five of our clients—each of them making enormous progress—have had their funding unexpectedly cut. These are people who have finally found stability, connection, and hope after years of struggle. Removing them now would not only undo their progress, it would place them at extreme risk of relapse, homelessness, and harm.

    We cannot let that happen.

✨ “He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata.”

What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.

These five individuals are our people. They are part of our whānau. And right now, they need all of us.

We are urgently seeking funding to keep them in treatment—somewhere safe, somewhere stable, somewhere they are finally beginning to believe they deserve to be.

Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports their continued care, therapy, housing, and recovery. Your support could be the difference between a life rebuilt and a life lost to addiction.

If you are able to help, or if your organisation can sponsor a client, please reach out.

Their recovery is happening right now. Their future depends on what we do next.

Together, we can uphold our kaupapa.

Together, we can protect their healing.

Together, we can keep them safe.

At our whare, we walk alongside some of the most vulnerable members of our community—men and women aged 21 to 60 carrying trauma, addiction, and homelessness. Our kaupapa is simple and unwavering: to provide a safe, culturally grounded therapeutic home where people can heal, rebuild, and reclaim their lives.

But today, we face an urgent and heartbreaking challenge.

Five of our clients—each making enormous progress—have had their government funding suddenly cut. These are people who have finally found stability, connection, and hope. Removing them now would not only undo their progress, it would place them at extreme risk of relapse, homelessness, and harm.

    We cannot let that happen.
