Help Us Keep Two Vulnerable Whānau Safe in Long Term Residential Treatment
Upper Hutt, Wellington
At our whare, we walk alongside some of the most vulnerable members of our community—Men and woman aged 21 to 60 carrying trauma, addiction, and homelessness.
Our kaupapa is simple and unwavering: to provide a safe, culturally grounded therapeutic home where people can heal, rebuild, and reclaim their lives.
But today, we face an urgent and heartbreaking challenge.
Two of our Tangata Whaiora—each making enormous progress have had their funding to continue treatment with Red Door withdrawn. These are people who have finally found stability, connection, and hope. Removing them now would not only undo their progress, it would place them at extreme risk of relapse, homelessness, and harm.
We cannot let that happen.
✨ “He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata.” What is the most important thing in the world? It is people.
These two individuals are our people. They are part of our whānau—and right now, they need all of us.
We are urgently seeking support to keep them in treatment until the end of their long term programmes and residencies.
Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports their care, therapy, housing, and recovery. Your support could be the difference between a life rebuilt and a life lost to addiction.
If you can help, or if your organisation can sponsor a client, please reach out. Their future depends on what we do next.
Together, we can uphold our kaupapa. Together, we can protect their healing. Together, we can keep them safe.
A tangata whaiora (client) that wants to change their life, for themselves, for their whanau and for the community. If the goal is not met, we will contribute the rest to help to help our client.
