Waikato

Kiwi watch community patrol is affiliated to community patrol of New Zealand (CPNZ), which is also affiliated to the New Zealand Police.

We are the eyes and ears for the Police patrolling central, west, east and south Hamilton.

Our objective is to assist in providing a safer and caring community by reducing the incidents and effects of crime by being out there and highly visible and in constant communication with the police.

Our role!

Kiwi watch community patrol assists Police at motor vehicle accidents when appropriate, assisting with finding missing people, reporting suspicious and stolen vehicles, intoxicated drivers, identifying any suspicious activity as well as supporting members of the public as appropriate. We also respond to anything else that the police request us to do.

We are a totally volunteer organization for the benefit of our community for which we get no financial assistance so hence why we are seeking help.

Typically, our patrols cover around 100km per shift with most patrols starting about 9pm and finishing about 2am on Friday and Saturday nights.

The immediate benefit of a new patrol vehicle will be significantly improved safety and protection for our volunteers by having access to a patrol car equipped with safety features that are common and standard in most cars on the road nowadays. This vehicle will be fully equipped with a highly visible logo, roof lights and a spot light, which will be a real deterrent to crime in our community and provide a much safer environment for our patrollers.

About us

We operate two person mobile patrols acting as extra "eyes and ears" for the NZ Police. Our objective is too act as a deterrent in crime prevention and limit its impact.
