Community Xmas Hampers Hawke’s Bay

My name is Piri Taurima on December 23rd 2019, I successfully implemented an idea to raise $1500 to be able to put together 50 Xmas food hampers for families in need and people who could really do with a special treat this year. Families are nominated either by themselves or by others and drawn at random. The families are then contacted by myself to collect their hampers to enjoy for Christmas Day.

What brought me to do this?

I am the founder/coordinator of the Mason Ave Community Pātaka Kai Aroha based in Mason Ave Maraenui. Every day I see the struggles families myself included go through hence the need for the Pātaka food pantry to be in the community. One day I woke up with a passionate idea to work hard and create food hampers this Xmas with the intention to uplift, encourage and provide hope through an act of love to people in the community in this small way ❤️🥰
