I require a new cpap machine as old one is tired and outdated.
Invercargill, Southland
I have been living with severe obstructive and central sleep apnea for many years now and would like to enlist any possible support towards purchasing another new CPAP machine to improve my quality of life and projected lifespan as my old machine is getting tired and outdated. I am 63 and have diabetes 2 and are on a benefit, so funds are not readily available to purchase on my own.
Recently my apnea has gotten notably worse. My family have noted that most nights I stop breathing for minutes at a time recurrently throughout the night and am constantly struggling to breathe. Continuous, uninterrupted breathing has become the exception rather than the rule. Most mornings I wake up feeling short of breath, with numb extremities and feeling more exhausted than before I had gone to sleep. This is affecting my focus, my clarity of thought, and is likely exacerbating other existing chronic health issues that I experience.
I have attempted all that I can to address the issue on my own. None of it has made much of a difference.
Purchasing a new CPAP machine will cost $2300 plus. I am a little embarrassed to crowdsource funding like this, but I am presently living week to week and buying one outright is beyond my means. Any support that can be given towards this at all would mean the world to me.
Unfortunately, our government will only supply one in your lifetime and mine is now over 6 yrs old and thus is why I am now seeking a new updated Automatic unit.
