Empowering Healing for Ukraine’s Children
5 January 2025Happy New Year, dear donors!
We are glad to share some updates on the progress of your impactful contributions to support war-affected children in Ukraine. Thanks to your generosity, we have received two applications that align perfectly with the donated funds for providing vital psychological support to children in need:
• Kateryna, 7, from Sumy: Kateryna’s family was displaced from Luhansk Oblast, which remains under occupation. Her father, a serviceman, died on July 16, 2023. Kateryna is afraid of loud noises: trembles, cries, and hides, especially during thunderstorms. The family is in a great need of support.
• Mykyta, 10, from Kyiv Oblast: The family lost their father during Moscow's shelling of civilians. The father was injured while bringing his son home after a loud noise in a shop. The death occurred recently, and the child is in great need of psychological support to cope with the trauma.
Typically, 10 therapy sessions for one child throughout the course of treatment would be provided to help them process their grief, develop resilience, and find hope for the future. We are in the final stages of paperwork and will update you as their healing journeys begin.
