Bay of Plenty
My name is Ana Moceyawa and I represent New Zealand in freestyle wrestling.
From a young age I have been training hard and I am passionate about representing New Zealand at the Olympic Games; this dream can come true this year in Rio, 2016.
I have been selected to attend the final qualifying event which is based in Algeria. If I place in the top 2 at this event, I will be going to the Olympic Games.
In preparation for this event, I will be landing in Sweden on the 15th March to spend two weeks of intense training with some of the worlds strongest female wrestlers. This is huge opportunity for me to gain valuable mat time and matches, which in a minority sport such as wrestling, is hard to find here in New Zealand.
I am based in the Bay of Plenty where I work and train full time because wrestling is not yet a fully funded sport. I've received alot of support in the past which has helped me get to this point and currently I am trying to reach the $5000 required to make this qualifier in Algeria. With this preparation in Sweden, I will be both physically and mentally ready to compete in Algeria; however the reality is that I do need help in funding to make it there.
I am grateful for anyone that can help me achieve my goals and dreams!!!!
