Bringing Crafting Threads of Aroha to a website near you soon! Help us fund a website so our crafters can support more charities.
Wellington
Crafting Threads of Aroha is a community of crafters in the Wellington region who donate carefully and lovingly hand crafted items to a variety of charities supporting people in need. Since 2022 we have been able to deliver over 7,000 items for babies, children and adults including bedding, clothing, toys and items to support people in medical care.
So far, we’ve achieved this through a private Facebook group. While this supports our tight knit community and their privacy, it stops us from connecting with new networks in the wider public. Having a website will help us make those wider connections, share our story, celebrate our crafters, and seek support from donors, funders and meet new charities to support. Volunteers will create our website but funds are needed for annual hosting and associated costs.
Crafting Threads of Aroha is a community of volunteer crafters in Wellington, Porirua, Hutt Valley and Kāpiti who supply crafted items (knitted, crocheted, and sewn) to charities and other organisations supporting people in need.
We’re hoping to raise some funds to put towards a modest website creation and the associated hosting costs for Crafting Threads of Aroha (registered charity). Any leftover funds will be saved for annual website hosting costs.
With a stronger online presence, we will be able to connect with new crafters and donors, and expand our network of charities to support.
Our website went live thanks to you! 23 April 2024
We are delighted to say we now have a website. If you haven't already checked it out, please take a look at craftingthreadsofaroha.nz
We couldn't have done it without your support to pay for the software licence and setup fees. We even have funds set aside for next year's costs so a very big thank you. And of course huge thanks to our volunteer website developer.
This is our first iteration and we have plans to add to it to make it an even better resource for our crafters, the organisations we support and the public.
