Help Craig Ireland access a privately funded 12-month course of chemotherapy for ongoing cancer treatment.
Hawke's Bay, Hastings District
In April, 2023, our dad, Craig Ireland, was diagnosed with rectal cancer. The journey since then has been a long, great, and deeply difficulty. Cancer has spread to his liver, and he has reached the limits of what public health care can offer. The costs associated with private treatment are significant, and we are asking for your help to ease the financial burden.
If you know Craig, you know how openly and generously and fully he shares his time with everyone. He has inspired many within the culinary space as a culinary arts teacher at St John’s College in Hastings. His commitment to his job extends far beyond the kitchen—he is a mentor, a role model, and a trusted friend to many. His kindness, generosity, and selflessness have earned him the respect and admiration of all who know him.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards funding these critical treatments, for 12 months of treatment. Your support will make a world of difference in Craig’s journey. We love him so much and owe so much to him; we hope we can get more time with him.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this challenging time.
We (myself and my two brothers) are Craig's children.

Thank you for your support 12 March 2025
After the provisional three months of privately funded treatment, Craig's prognosis is terminal, and time is limited. We are going to close this fundraiser, but wanted to give an update before we did so. Words cannot express how deeply grateful we are for the aroha and support we have received throughout this journey. We had to try this treatment, and you all made that possible. Unfortunately, we didn't get the outcome we were hoping for. Know that we are not giving up. Craig is in good spirits and feeling well, despite everything (see for yourself!). We are now focusing on enjoying every moment we have left with him. We know Craig is important to many, so we welcome you to enjoy this time with him as well. Please visit or reach out; we'd love to hear from you.
