Raising funds to represent NZ at the Kyokushin Karate Junior World Championships in Tokyo in November.
Auckland
My name is Cruz Wilson. I'm 12 years old and began studying Kyokushin Karate in 2017 and discovered that I LOVE it and I have some natural talent.
On 1 June 2019, I travelled to Wellington to compete in the 2019 New Zealand Kyokushin Championships (https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/b56d70_72bc1d4f48ed484da5c148fe58d5df1f.pdf). There were over 180 competitors from all around New Zealand and Australia, many with a lot more experience than me. I had worked hard to prepare and it paid off. In my division, I achieved first place in Kata (forms) second place in Kumite (fighting).
Now, I have the privilege of being a competitor in the squad to represent New Zealand at the Kyokushin Karate Junior World Championships in Tokyo on 22 November 2019. The Kyokushin World Championships brings together nearly 3,000 of the top karate practitioners from around the world and will take place in a big arena that holds 10,000 people!
As you can imagine, competing on the international level is expensive. My parents are working hard to purchase airfares and accommodation for the family to come and support me, but I'm also working hard to raise funds to help pay for my return airfare, accommodation, tournament fees, training camp fees, and gear.
Any contribution will be gratefully received. Thank you for taking the time to read my page.

Return airfare, accommodation, tournament fees and gear, training camp fees.
If I don't reach my financial goal, any funds raised will still go towards expenses - every dollar helps.
