Cycling for Epilepsy - Tim Chittock

$408 of $25,000 goal
Given by 10 generous donors in one year

Kiwi cyclist Timothy Chittock to cycle the length of New Zealand in February 2018 to raise awareness for Epilepsy New Zealand.

Nationwide

Kiwi cyclist Tim Chittock will be attempting to set a new record for cycling the length of New Zealand in March 2018. Tim will start his record attempt from Cape Reinga on 5 March with the goal of arriving in Bluff on 9 March. (Postponed from 21-25 February)

As an ambassador for Epilepsy New Zealand, Tim is using this record attempt to raise awareness for Epilepsy and much needed funds for the charity. Having seen the effects of epilepsy first hand within his family, Tim is passionate about helping the charity with its cause.

Epilepsy New Zealand supports individuals and families dealing with epilepsy around the country through its team of local Educators, national support staff and volunteers. Epilepsy is a neurological condition that affects over 47,000 Kiwis and their families in New Zealand.

The current record of 4 days and 10 hours was set by Craig Harper in February 2017. Four people have attempted this incredible feat, but only two have managed to complete it. The mental challenge of cycling the length of the country will be tough due to the gruelling length and speed required, lack of sleep and topography of New Zealand.

Tim will be supported on the road by his friends, brother and a support crew from Epilepsy New Zealand. Support rallies will be organised on route for Tim to cheer him on as he traverses past major towns and cities down the country.

Come and celebrate with Tim and cheer him on to show your support. You can also get involved by donating to the initial campaign costs through this Givealittle page, sponsoring the kilometres of Tim’s journey, volunteering, or running a local fundraiser as part of this campaign.
