DAN 'THE FAMILY MAN' NEEDS YOUR HELP!

  • DANS RECOVERY UPDATE

      9 February 2024

    Kia ora whanau and friends

Thank you to everyone for your constant support throughout my journey, I feel blessed. As I approach the ten-month mark, I can confidently say its been roller coaster ride. There have been moments of joy, such as reading to my kids, riding my bike again, and swimming in ocean. It's been great catching up with old/new friends and diving back into my art projects.

However, there have also been frustrating moments, particularly with my difficulty communicating with my family and the ongoing challenges with my speed, strength, and balance. I miss surfing, photography, my work, and the familiar routines of my life before my surgery.

Nevertheless, I am determined to keep pushing forward and working hard with my therapy team to achieve the best possible results for my family and myself. I want to express my gratitude to my beautiful partner, Daisy, whose unwavering love and support have kept me going through it all.

Sending love and light to all of you.❤️

    Dan

This from Dan's loving partner, Daisy: "As we near our 5th week in hospital after Dan’s surgery complications and brain bleed he has made such wonderful progress and his beautiful cheeky spark is back. We are still working hard to get his speech and movement in his right arm back as well as working on the other areas of his rehabilitation. It’s looking like within the next couple of weeks we may be heading home so we will carry on Dans rehabilitation there. It’s a long and hard journey ahead but we are incredibly proud of Dan and so looking forward to having our family all back together at home when the time is right. I am more than sure having his boys around him will be one of his best motivations. Thank you everyone for your beautiful kind support, we feel so incredibly lucky and loved."

It is a big journey ahead and although there are still many things unknown, they are determined to get Dan back doing all the things he loves, and more. The love and support received has completely blown them away and their appreciation is immeasurable. A BIG THANKYOU from the bottom of their hearts.❤️

  • POST SURGERY UPDATE

      14 April 2023

Dan has had his procedure! Although the procedure itself was a success, unfortunately, there were complications and this means Dan now has a very long road to recovery. Our thoughts are with Daisy and we are all praying for the best. They are in a desperate situation right now. Your Donations are going to be so helpful to them. THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far - the family are very grateful.
