Help bring Dandy-Lion, my Christmas miracle kitten, home to New Zealand by June.
Bay of Plenty
Dandy-Lion is my Christmas miracle kitty. A friend of mine back in Kansas City first found her as a small kitten wandering alone in the backyard on a cold day in December 2009. It was quite mysterious--her by herself in the middle of winter with no mamma or family to be found. Around that same time I decided I wanted to adopt a kitten. After seeing a picture of her, I immediately fell in love. However, my "free kitty" turned out to come with a large price tag after the vet discovered an abnormal lump on her side that was blocking her intestines. I had to make a decision then on whether or not I would let her live. Even though money was short, I decided yes! She received surgery to remove an enlarged kidney. The vet said that it was a miracle case. After surviving a traumatic kittenhood, Dandy grew up to be a healthy, affectionate, and very intelligent cat. She has always held a special place in my heart because of everything I went through to make her mine.
In October 2015 I was married to the man of my dreams, who just happened to be from New Zealand. It has been a joy making our home here, but I do miss my family and my kitty. I think having her here will bring my two worlds together a little bit. I have always viewed pets as part of the family for life; that is why it was so hard when I discovered how much it costs to ship a cat to New Zealand from the States. I have cried many tears over this, and just can't give up on getting her here. Thanks so much for considering helping Dandy-Lion get to New Zealand.
