Daniel was selected for the Athletics New Zealand Australian Junior Championships Youth Development Tour to Sydney in March/April. This is a self-funded tour.
He has been involved with Race Walking since age 10 and is the current Athletics Wellington record holder in the 3,000m Track Race Walk for ages M15-M19. Daniel holds the 5,000m Road Walk, NZ National record for his age group. Daniel set a new 10km course record at the Pelorus Trust walk in Petone and the 2018 Gazley Wellington Marathon 10km walk.
People will recognise Daniel from his training walks around Upper Hutt city, with training 6 days and average of 50km per week.
This is an excellent opportunity for Daniel to improve himself and make New Zealand proud.
I am Daniel's dad.
Flights, accommodation, entry fees, meals, Athletics NZ management fees.
Thank you for your support 29 March 2019
Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me. We’ve reached the target through your generous donations, other fundraisers like the very successful movie night and raffle arranged by Bart, Jackie and Joe. There were also generous donations from Harriers and Athletic clubs and acquaintances.
I have subsequently been selected to represent New Zealand in the Oceania U18 Athletics New Zealand team in Townsville, Australia at the end of June. This is a very exciting opportunity and any funds left over after my Athletics Australia Championship will go towards the Oceania trip.
