Taking on a 3000km hike along New Zealand's Te Araroa Trail to raise $$ for Predator Free NZ community groups.
Nationwide
I am taking on a 3000km hike along NZ's Te Araroa Trail to raise $$ for Predator Free community groups working to protect and preserve the wild places and native species of New Zealand.
The journey will take 5 months to walk the length of NZ from Cape Reinga to Bluff and along the way I will hike from beaches to volcanoes, over mountains and across rivers, through cities and into the back country, all to support the amazing work of community conservation groups along the trail route who volunteer their time in habitat restoration, pest control, wildlife monitoring, research, education and species translocation across this beautiful country!
Funds raised will be divided between the Puketi Forest Trust, NZ Fairy Tern Trust, Friends of Rotoiti Bluff Hill Motuphoue Environment Trust and the Te Araroa Trust with each receiving $1000.00
As a zookeeper, wildlife and conservation are a driving force in my life and I wanted to challenge myself personally with this journey while also using it as a platform to support wildlife conservation in New Zealand.
