Das Bunker Kapiti - Boutique Military Museum

A life long private collection of Military artefacts, well presented in a custom built semi underground Bunker/Museum. If you have an interest in Military history, WWI or WWII you will love Das Bunker.

Das Bunker is a non-profit boutique Military Museum - Open to the public by appointment. We have some items on loan displayed, some items have been donated. Most items are owned by Das Bunker. Some visitors have been so impressed they have asked to make a donation. You can. We do not re-sell anything, and we do not make any money from this facility.

New Zealand Defence Force are retiring Sig pistols and Steyr rifles from service and they are coming up for auction within the next six months. There are thousands of them but only a few will be availble for purchase by licensed collectors and museums via auction. The rest will be destroyed. If anyone would like to help us raise money to purchase these examples that would be fantastic. Even a few people making a small effort, could make the difference between Das Bunker securing examples of these NZDF weapons, or having them destroyed. So – if you want to help the coolest boutique Military Museum in the Wellington area save some from the grinder – you can. Thanks :)
