Nationwide

Before David got sick, he was a hard-working, business running Kiwi guy. He employed people, helped people and looked after his family. By completing 5 rounds of this trial in Wurzburg Germany, he can do that again. However, medical and living costs will total up to NZ$80,000. Please help David in his fight for life. Update for 15/04/2012  15 April 2012

Hi and special thanks to all those who have supported David. He updated the following to his FB page recently. Hallo from Wurzburg Following four rounds of treatment, I have been extremely fortunate to recover from a cardiac arrest, fluid in the lungs and multiple broken ribs from the re-animation. In the weeks since I was released from hospital with a considerable loss of weight (59kg when discharged), I am now in a most excellent condition. My blood counts are all returning to normal with a healthy bone marrow and my physical recovery has been great. Ribs healed, muscle mass returned (currently sporting a healthy weight of 77kg). There is a very faint residual disease signal from my PCR testing from the first three rounds, here's hoping this will be completely gone after the current round. I have one more round of treatment to complete here in Wurzburg before my return home in late May. I am certainly looking forward to returning home to family and friends in Kiwi. ""THANK YOU"" to all, from every corner of my heart, who have supported my fight through my Facebook page or directly, whatever form it has taken, it has all been monumental in helping me cope with some of the darkest hours one should ever have to endure. I have met some incredible people through this experience and know I have many generous and caring people in my life. David Cotton Since this update, he has had further good news. He now has NO RESIDUAL DISEASE. A miraculous result for him, his sons and family and friends. Doctors are working hard on the trial to get this drug out to the rest of the world so other people can also find hope. Many thanks to all.

Hi Dave. I'm Sam Holden's sister, I met you briefly back in 2010. Hope things are still going well in Germany. Sounds like you've had some very positive results - hooray!!! Sam has dedicated his 'Shave for a cure' to you, so I thought I'd donate my small contribution directly to you. All the best for your return to NZ. xx
