Death and Debt. Leaving My Family With Less Than Nothing

Waikato

I have a neurological disease wreaking havoc on my gastrointestinal track. Im 32 and will be lucky to hit 35.

When covid hit, I was forced to shutter my business and ended up in financial ruin. Fast forward to 2022, I was working as a delivery driver when I ended up in hospital with extreme abdominal pain. After 2 years, multiple ambulance call outs and months of hospital stays, the issue was diagnosed as a neurological issue, no treatment, only management with drugs. I now spend most of my days in pain at home, unable to do much of anything.

We don't own our own home, and after my KiwiSaver, selling everything we could and cutting out any non essentials, we are still more the $37k in debt. My wife has started to work 12 hours a day to boost our income which means I never get to spend time with her.

I don't want to leave my wife and daughter with nothing but debt to remember me by, I want to spend as much time as I can with them making memory's.

Use of funds

Paying off our debt so my wife can stop worrying about what happens when im gone.
