Hi everyone, I am sad to be giving this update but it's important for those that donated but may not be aware of the news. It is with the heaviest of hearts to inform you that on Fri 16th March NZ time our beloved Steve took his last breath and passed away. No words can explain the deep pain everyone is feeling. He was so grateful to all the donations he received. He continued to receive treatment but things went down hill lately. Thank you, kind regards Sandra Dacey (friend)

  • Closure of page

      5 October 2022

    Hello everyone,

An update and to advise that I am closing this give a little page. Treatment is going well.

Firstly, I just want to show a massive appreciation to every single person who has contributed in any way towards my givealittle page. Whether that was sharing the page, sending your love and/or donating a koha. I cannot express how grateful I am and will forever be grateful.

Secondly, I would like to share my gratitude to the Western Southland communities and Police. I am very thankful for the efforts as many of you went above and beyond to fundraise for my cause. I’m thankful I had the privilege to be one of your police officers as it was a community like no other.

Unfortunately, I feel this page has now done the best it can for me and I’m ecstatic that we got to fundraise just over $60,000. The support from everyone has been very overwhelming. So therefore, I have decided to close this page down and just wanted to say my final thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey as your donations have heavily contributed towards my treatment cost. So, thank you very much.

    Steve Ioane

  • Update #1

      1 May 2022

    Hi everyone

Thank you so much for your generous donations. To date we have raised $43,000 which is absolutely amazing and just goes to show how much Steve is appreciated in his communities.

We have had many donations, fundraisers held, baking goods sold etc. Every little bit helps and we are really grateful.

I know a lot of you will be wanting to know how Steve is doing, so here is a personal update from yours truly:

I’m just so humble and thankful to all the people who have donated, some of who I don’t even know. I know a lot of people have organised fundraising, bake sales and sports events to raise money for me. Without them I wouldn’t be able to get the treatment I really need. The way the communities have rallied together to support me has been overwhelming, my family and I are extremely grateful.

My first round of treatment was quite a rough ride but the second one was a bit more manageable. I know I have a long road ahead of me but will keep you all updated. I really appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers.

A massive thank you to everyone again.

    Steve
