Defibrillator for our community!

$4,018 of $3,965 goal
Given by 38 generous donors in around 5 months

Every second counts, help raise funds to be prepared for an emergency!

Kelburn, Wellington

Imagine you go to grab some milk from your local dairy when suddenly someone collapses. In those critical moments, every second counts. Unfortunately, our community lacks an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), which could mean the difference between life and death.

Every minute someone in sudden cardiac arrest does not receive defibrillation their survival drops 10%. that means after 10 minute everything that has happened is practically irreversible.

If you have any questions feel free to direct them to the email: paddychristie11@gmail.com

Use of funds

The money raised will be spent on a AED/Defibrillator and an outdoor cabinet for the AED/Defibrillator!

Funds to be paid to my father Matthew as I can not receive funds from this page as I'm under the age of 18.

Defibrillator Installed! Thank you! ❤️  14 June 2025

Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of the Kelburn community, we’ve now installed an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) outside St Michael’s Church, next to the bus stop.

For the exact location of the AED, please refer to this link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vDv1tMYiy2A4JF6m9

This project has been a true community effort, and I want to say a sincere thank you to everyone who donated, shared the campaign, or offered words of encouragement along the way. Your kindness has made a real and lasting difference. This AED could one day help save a life. And a special thanks to the Fraser and O’Connor families.

How to Use the AED in an Emergency:

Call 111 and ask for the access code

Enter the code into the AED cabinet

Open the cabinet door

Remove the AED

Follow the spoken instructions from the device

If you'd like a quick overview on how to use an AED, this short video is a great place to start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0GtFIKCRkI

Thanks to Wellington Free Ambulance, the AED will be maintained to ensure it is in working order.

Thank you again for being part of something so important. This AED belongs to all of us.

Thank you! ❤️

-Paddy
