Devereux Whānau House Fire Support

  • Krystal’s space

Things are now underway to get Krystal a room. As a youth/young adult, having her own space again is so important — a place that’s hers, with her own things — especially after losing everything in the fire at her parents’ home.

Because she’s starting completely from scratch, the hope is to fill her room with new items that belong just to her, helping create a space of comfort and stability as she continues to heal from an extremely traumatic time.

If you would like to koha toward rebuilding Krystal’s room, you’re welcome to do so — just note “For Krystal’s room”. The whānau are deeply grateful for every bit of support, and most importantly, for your ongoing prayers.

    Ngā mihi nui.

    Message from Paul Deveraux

Huge appreciation to the Waikanae fire brigade for getting to our place in good time to prevent the spread to adjacent buildings. Our 1950s house was an inferno within 5 minutes. Another few teams supported from other towns. Thanks also to huge volunteer support from the wider community including Goodmans and Quinns contracting to clear away the debris.

Thank you all for your ongoing support for the Deveraux whānau. The amazing peeps coordinating the awhi and immediate needs has confirmed that the basics have now been met, which is an incredible blessing. We are now shifting our focus toward their long‑term recovery, and encourage those wanting to support to use the Givealittle page set up for this purpose. El Rancho have also confirmed they are still receiving items; however, the Deveraux whānau are keen to avoid overlap or receiving more than they can practically use. Your kindness continues to make a real difference as this whānau rebuild their lives. Ngā mihi nui for every act of aroha and support.
