Message from Di
10 April 2017"My dear friends, I have at last got to the point of being able to put some words together to let you all know my progress. But first I need to say a heartfelt Thank You for your generosity. It's a bit overwhelming for me but my sincere thanks to you all. I went right to the brink with an adverse reaction that has been the biggest challenge of my life. But the good news is that I am now on the road to recovery...from needing total care and support of the multidisciplinary looking after me I am now heading towards self care and management in tiny steps. The simple things such as self care, walking with a frame, eating and drinking - well grazing really - are now daily activities for me. The plan is to transition to a rehabilitation ward to build strength, stamina, self management and confidence with ADL 'activities of daily living'. It is SO good to be this distance away from each day being precarious. My goal is to find my va va voom again so I can be an active GG - a Groovy Granny - for my first grandchild due in early June. Thank you to everybody for all the prayers, cards, texts and donations. My gratitude cannot be expressed deeply enough. Much Love Di" (10/4/17)
