HI my name is JJ and I was born at 30 weeks and have cerebral palsy. Please help me on my journey to receive stem cell therapy
Wellington
Hi everyone,
My son JJ is 8 years old and has spastic quadraplegia Cerebral palsy. JJ is an amazing young boy, with a smile that lights up a room, sparkling eyes and a contagious laugh. JJ has a positive outlook on life.
JJ is social and through his non verbal communication skills he loves to interact with children and adults. JJ loves being out and about exploring the community and shops.
In four weeks he is about to become a big brother for the first time in our household! This has presented an opportunity to collect cord blood from his baby brother in an attempt that JJ might be able to receive stem cell therapy in the future.
Cord blood stem cells are the most powerful stem cells, they are the youngest and not damaged by the aging process. Banking the cord blood offers a chance for JJ to benefit from the new therapies that use it to treat cerebral palsy in an effort to give JJ more opportunities to increase his gross motor skills and vocabulary potentialy spending more time out of his chair viewing his world standing.
We hopefully have 2 - 4 weeks before JJ's brother is to be born. We need to raise $3000 in time for the birth. This covers the cost of the cord blood kit and storage for a year.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated.
