This page has been created to support the children of St Christopher's Home Fiji who need extra support in their learning, particularly 5 students who struggle to read and write and are having to re-peat the same year.
For $4.00 you can provide a local tutor to individually partner with each of these children to receive the support they need. With your help, we can raise funds to enable each to receive 3 hours of tutoring weekly over the course of the year.
St Christopher's is an orphanage in Fiji who have been providing a loving, stable, and nurturing environment for children in need from across Fiji for 50 years. With 36 children, the home is full of love and laughter under the service of Sister Kalo and Sister Longo. Due to numbers, the Home cannot afford extra tutorage for the 5 children who are struggling with their learning. Unlike New Zealand, the Fiji Ministry of Education has annual state exams from year 1 to year 13 which the students are required to pass. It is the orphanage's vision to support each of these children in their education as if they do not achieve results, this hinders their future acceptance into the year above, and future colleges, and universities.
Education is power. Your generous donation will enable this dream of St Christopher's Home to become a reality for these precious children!
I am a friend of the St Christopher's Home, and have had the privilege of supporting them in their education over the past month. The home is a huge support to the local schools and community and I would love to see their service returned to them through funds to support the children in the foster Home who need extra tutoring.
All funds are being collected on behalf of the Sister-in-Charge Kalolaine Tuineau.
Funds will be used to pay the local tutors in the community to partner with the children and help them in their learning.
