"The Dolleen Diaries"

Everyone keeps asking..."What can we do to support our Doll? We are far away and we feel helpless. What can we do?"

International

On 11 August 2018, Colleen suddenly collapsed and was swiftly transported to Waikato Hospital where it was discovered that she had suffered two brain aneurysms. After some time in HDU, she was moved to a ward. Initially, she made a speedy miraculous recovery with no identified issues.

However, on 22 August 2018, she suffered a massive stroke to the right side of her brain which has now restricted movement down the left side of her body.

She was placed in ICU for a week where she was given medication to prevent further strokes. She was then moved to a ward and on 31.08.18, she was transferred to Tauranga Hospital to continue her recovery. We do not know the long-term prognosis or what rehabilitation she will require. What we do know is that Colleen is determined to return to Melbourne to resume her life. Let's support her to do that.

ALL funds donated will be passed onto Colleen minus 5% givealittle service fees (automatically deducted). If you add a 'top-up' with your donation, this will help to offset the service fee.

I am one of Colleen's older sisters AKA the bossy one, the pitbull, the gatekeeper, the one who has been keeping everyone updated on Facebook via The Dolleen Diaries.

Use of funds

With permission from the family, I have started this page to build a fund to support Colleen and her sons with any rehabilitation costs/travel expenses they may have in the future.

"The Dolleen Diaries" - 12.09.18  13 September 2018

Aroha mai. Sharing fail yesterday

Kia Ora Whanau. Had a long skype chat with my baby sister today. We cackled wickedly, swapped gossip and spoke about poos and farts lol Our usuals 😉😉 She looks and sounds so good. I asked her if she is back online yet cos these Dolleen Diaries are time consuming, but currently, she is not online due to locking herself out of her phone and facebook account by forgetting her passwords and email address. If anyone out there knows her email address, please p.m this to me and refrain from sending her any private messages or new friend requests in the meantime. She can receive letters, cards, pictures and flowers forwarded to Tauranga Hospital and she is looking forward to having a glass of cheap red wine and some Island Chicken 😁
