Donate a meal for Aucklands Homeless community
Because no one deserves to rummage through the rubbish for food.Auckland
Sunday Blessings believes that no one surviving without shelter should be forced to search through rubbish bins for food, especially when local business in areas impacted by homelessness have daily food surplus.
Since formation in 2018 we have coordinated over 20,000 meals for the homeless community of Auckland, twice a week every week, out front of Auckland public library.
With the impact Covid 19 has had on local business operations, we have lost all our surplus food donations, but we have not lost our enthusiasm to keep providing nor our large volunteer army.
This is where we ask the community for help to help our un-homed.
$2 is all it takes to cover the cost of a meal for our friends, because 100% of your donation goes from you to the people in need.
Zero admin costs from Sunday Blessings, because we work tirelessly for the people not for profit.
Our goal is to use what donations the community can spare to keep providing evening food until local business surplus is available. This will take time.
We have ongoing affiliations with the following awesome groups/organisations:
AUT, Tender Love & Care, St Georges rowing Cook Strait crossing crew, Orange Sky, maybe your group?!

Thank you to our donors who have contributed to keeping our services afloat during 2 lockdown’s, over the current holiday period AND during a move of location, making it coming up to our 3rd year of working together for the community.
Without you the people doing it rough would not have had full bellies, and we would not have had the capacity or resources to continue on during the above periods.
Our new location is the wonderful Ellen Melville Centre at 2 Freyberg Place Auckland City (thank you Auckland Council!!).
In 2021 not will we be focusing on only eliminating food insecurity by utilising what would otherwise be waste and baking from the community, but moving into offering advocacy services in an effort to empower our friends.
Please follow us on social media if you’d like to see our updates or get involved with our 2021 initiatives.
Have a wonderful year, and thank you so much from the bottoms of our hearts for your kindness.
