Creative Writing and Athletics Prizes to honour the life and legacy of Donna Young (Rutherford)
This page is to raise money for a perpetual award for young people in Donna's name in creative writing and in athletics.

On 10th of October 2021 we were heartbroken when Donna passed away suddenly from a stroke, a loving mom to four kids, a daughter, a great friend to many and my best friend and wife of 24 years.
On behalf of our kids we have created awards in their moms name. An award-winning writer, teacher, marathon runner, Scottish athletic record holder, laugher, giggler, dancer and beautiful soul. She loved teaching creative writing and coaching young people in athletics.
We have created this give-a-little page to donate to the awards so they carry Donna's name and memory for the life of her kids. We can’t think of a more meaningful and inspiring cause for a legacy for her life. In her honour there will be an award for creative writing, Scottish poetry and athletics and they will be awarded to up and coming young writers, poets and runners.
Please donate to this page and the fund will contribute to the yearly awards. This is a one off donation. $7500 is being raised.
Donna was in her greatest space supporting her kids. And supporting the dreams of other young people in sport and writing. Thanks for your kindness and contribution.

Donna was my wife and mom to our 4 kids. She passed away October 10 2021.
Use of funds
The money will become a scholarship for the award winners in Creative writing at Kings High School, Creative writing at Queens High School and Athletics prize at her club Caversham Harriers.
