Douglas the Dog

Hi all,

I have resisted my page for Douglas as things have now changed in his circumstances. I recently went to a Vet Specialist who did more X-rays on him and they have found that he has 'Transitional Vertebrae'. He has somehow grown an eighth vertebra which is trapped in his spinal ending. This is causing Douglas to be in constant pain in his lower back and has been the cause of his hip dysplasia also.

Douglas is now 12.5 months old. This has come as a shock to me as i had no idea dogs were able to grow an extra vertebra which would in turn put them in chronic pain.

The vet has told me to now focus on his spinal problem as this is whats causing the most pain to Douglas. He is needing a CT scan to show where the nerves are ending in order for the vets to see if it will be accessible for surgery in his lower back.

My give a little page is now for trying to fundraise for his CT Scan. Any help i can receive for this will mean so much to me, all i want to do is be able to alleviate some of Douglas' pain and try and get his spine/back more manageable and unfortunately that can only be helped through a CT scan and possible surgery. But vets won't know what surgery they can perform on him till the results of a CT scan.

I will immensely appreciate any donations, big or small, that i receive as Douglas is my dream fur baby and i will try anything and everything to save him. This is an incredibly tough time for Douglas and I, i just want to see him happy and running around. I dont want him to continue being in anymore pain.
