Please Help Bi for Life Changing Surgery

Hello everyone,

This is my son Bi and he is turning 4 next January.

He is diagnosed with spastic diplegia, which caused his leg muscles to be stiffen and tightened. This made him to walk very unsteady and he falls down constantly if he is not holding onto anything.

Therefore, when he is walking, he needs his splints and a little walking frame all the time. Bi is very eager to walk independently. He struggles everyday to stand and walk with balanced posture.

To soften his leg muscles, he needs to take botox injection in every 6 months, physiotherapy and do lots of exercises.

Bi cooperates well and push his limits with his exercises and this little boy tells people that he is doing it because he wants to walk and run on his own without falling.

Bi just wants to walk and run like any other kids.But it breaks our hearts that these treatments are only for temporary and it can not fix his condition.

By chance, we got to know about Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), and we have seen many Kiwi kids got great benefits out of it. We are given a hope that Bi's condition can be cured so that he can walk and run wherever he wants to go. So we contacted St. Louise Children's Hospital in USA (unfortunately, SDR is not offered in New Zealand) and got a positive news that Bi can walk independently after SDR.
