Dre has his surgery on Thursday which went well, the clinic took great care with him and he seems much happier!

The injury was worse than initially expected requiring a bone graft from the shoulder to fill in the leg along with a plate joining the bones together.

Dre is happy to be home, back in his bed and doing a lot of snoozing!

This isn’t the end however, we still have crate rest, no jumping/running/playing, weekly rebandaging, check up x-rays, suture removal, and a careful walking schedule to rebuild the muscle in the leg over many many weeks!

Thank you all for your support, the givealittle is due to close 1st February and the funds will go towards his surgery cost so thank you everyone!

Dre jumped on an airplane yesterday followed by a road trip down to the specialist vet clinic. Dre went in for surgery today and it went well!

A plate has been put into his leg and he is sleeping off the sedatives for the rest of the night and then we start the recovery time

Thank you all for your ongoing donations to Dres vet care!

Much to our disgust, we have received a response from the council stating they do not accept any liability for the event on their land and will not provide any kind of compensation for the injury costs.

The give-a-little is now a saving grace, thank you all for your kind donations, we have friends, family, and even strangers supporting us better than our own council.

Dre is patiently waiting for specialist surgery estimated around $4000-$5000, plus travel there, and plus aftercare/rehabilitation costs which are not yet known

Until then he is enjoying his time in the sunshine relaxing!

Thank you all again for your generous donations towards his recovery!

How amazing it is to see these donations and how grateful we are for them. Thank you to everyone that has donated.

Dre is heading back into the Alexandra clinic today for his original emergency stitches to be replaced with ones that will last until the big surgery.

We are looking at a family relative surgery specialist in Rotorua where the cost will be similar to seeing the specialist in Christchurch.

For now, Dre has a nice orthopaedic bed in a big crate to rest and has managed to eat & take pain relief

Thank you all for your support!
