Thanks to all our wonderful donors and sponsors, our team have been able to travel to Michigan, USA and represent Drury School and NZ in the 2016 Future Problem-Solving International Conference (FPSIC).

It has been an amazing journey just to get there and we have truly been humbled by the extraordinary support of you all - we couldn't have done it without you!

It was a very intense week at the Michigan State University campus, which incidentally is quite huge! You may be very proud of our team, as they conducted themselves extremely well and were great ambassadors for our school and our country.

In between events, we were able to participate in a number of fun activities, including an international swap-meet, a scavenger hunt on campus, and a trip to the Henry Ford Museum.

We are very proud to announce that the Drury School team won the first round on points for the Dramatic Presentation of their action plan, which put them through to the Final round, in which they placed 6th overall from 52 teams in the Junior division. Unfortunately that meant they just missed out on a medal, but it is an extraordinary result none-the-less, and a credit to the team.

For the Global Issues main booklet, they have excelled to place 7th from 52 teams in the Junior division, earning them well deserved trophies, and a plaque that will be on display at the school.

In addition to this great result, our team have met and befriended other like-minded young people from around the world, which is something to be treasured in its own right.

Our heartfelt thanks once again for your part in this extraordinary journey. It truly was an investment in the future!

  • Working towards our goals ...

      29 April 2016

It has been an amazing first term, with so many fundraising activities that are seeing us move steadily towards our goal. Partnered with your kind donations, we are seeing the dream take solid form.

Our FPS team have been working hard in preparation for the International Finals, with many many hours devoted to perfecting their submissions and presentations.

Our Freezer Friday endeavour proved to be a great hit with our Drury school students. We capped this with a school sausage sizzle, which was also very well received. Our heartfelt thanks to all the families who made purchases during this time - every dollar helps!

Our Wave Rave was also a lot of fun, with 160 tickets sold by us. In addition, the yummy home-baking and sweets sold on the night were consumed with gusto, and we had sold out by the end of the night. Many thanks to those who donated goodies for us to sell.

The two sausage sizzles we held in Takanini during April did not raise as much as we had hoped. Nonetheless, it has increased our total and we are very grateful to all those who braved the unfavourable weather to sell or buy at these events.

With just one month to go, we are still working hard to cover the costs of the trip. To this end, we continue to pursue fundraising opportunities.

First, we are selling kitchen consumables, including cling wrap, foil, and baking paper in great quality, great value packs. Orders may be placed through the school office.

Also, we are seeking additional corporate sponsorship which we will publicly acknowledge through our various school communications. If this is something that you or someone you know may like to consider, please contact the school for details.

Thank you again for all your support and encouragement. We look forward to bringing you a final fundraising update and results from the trip in the near future.

  • In Full Swing ...

      14 March 2016

We continue to be blown away by the on-going support from our school and wider community.

This has come in many forms, including donations of items that we can sell, great ideas for fund-raising opportunities, and the extra load picked up by the Drury School office staff in support of all our enterprises.

Ray White Drury have generously initiated some great activities to support us - please check out their Facebook page or contact their office for details.

Our Freezer Fridays, selling ice-blocks and ice creams, have proven to be very popular among the Drury School students. This initiative continues throughout Term 1.

We will be manning the sausage sizzle outside Mitre 10 Mega Takanini on Sunday 10th & Sunday 24th of April, starting 8am. If you're in the neighbourhood, please do stop by for a bite - we plan to sell some home-made goodies as well!

We are also very excited to announce a Wave Rave at Massey Park Pool in Papakura on Friday 8 April 7-8:30pm.

A Wave Rave is a fabulous night at the pool including the big blow up climbing tube, music, competitions and prizes. The Future Problem Solving Team makes a profit from every ticket sold and also from the food and drinks we will be selling on the night. Tickets are $6 each, available from the Drury School Office.

We continue to pursue other fund-raising ventures and opportunities - please stay tuned for updates!
