Help our Champion Future Problem Solvers make it to the 2016 International Finals in Michigan, USA!
Auckland
Our 2015 Future Problem Solving team has had great success at the National Finals held October 2015, placing 1st in the Global Issues category for their age group. This provides them with the opportunity to represent NZ next year in the International Finals in Michigan, USA. We would appreciate your support in helping us get our kids there!
This is an opportunity to sow into the future of our children and of the world in which they will live.
Drury School was established in 1857 and has a long and proud history.
Our school is a full primary that provides quality education for students from Years 1 – 8. This continuous education has allowed the school to develop an atmosphere that we believe produces well rounded students ready for their secondary education and beyond. High standards of conduct and responsibility are expected of all students.
Our aim is to develop confident, open minded thinkers who possess a positive attitude.
We have very dedicated staff members who strive to unlock the potential in every student as we grow lifelong learners.
Drury School is also fortunate in having a Board of Trustees, a Friends of Drury School parent group and community who are extremely committed and work very hard in support of our school and students.
We are a Green-Gold Enviro School and have very attractive grounds including a large hall, swimming pool, astroturf and two adventure playgrounds.
A Brilliant Result! 11 June 2016
Thanks to all our wonderful donors and sponsors, our team have been able to travel to Michigan, USA and represent Drury School and NZ in the 2016 Future Problem-Solving International Conference (FPSIC).
It has been an amazing journey just to get there and we have truly been humbled by the extraordinary support of you all - we couldn't have done it without you!
It was a very intense week at the Michigan State University campus, which incidentally is quite huge! You may be very proud of our team, as they conducted themselves extremely well and were great ambassadors for our school and our country.
In between events, we were able to participate in a number of fun activities, including an international swap-meet, a scavenger hunt on campus, and a trip to the Henry Ford Museum.
We are very proud to announce that the Drury School team won the first round on points for the Dramatic Presentation of their action plan, which put them through to the Final round, in which they placed 6th overall from 52 teams in the Junior division. Unfortunately that meant they just missed out on a medal, but it is an extraordinary result none-the-less, and a credit to the team.
For the Global Issues main booklet, they have excelled to place 7th from 52 teams in the Junior division, earning them well deserved trophies, and a plaque that will be on display at the school.
In addition to this great result, our team have met and befriended other like-minded young people from around the world, which is something to be treasured in its own right.
Our heartfelt thanks once again for your part in this extraordinary journey. It truly was an investment in the future!
