Help Dylan and his family as he fights Leukaemia

    An update from Sarah:

Dylan has just completed 6 days of chemo for his 2nd round, with a small break in between. This cycle is higher doses, and so the doctors expect him to become quite sick. In the past week he has had pneumonia, rashes, nausea and some vomiting. Although he is still maintaining his appetite - we opted for the nasogastric tube again as its less traumatic for him taking numerous oral meds. He’s now become immune compromised, an expected bodily response to chemo, and will remain in protective isolation for the next few weeks. This is when infections can occur, from something as simple as the natural bacteria on his own little body. We are so glad that we have such a great team of doctors and nurses at Starship taking care of bubba so we feel that we are in safe hands ♥️. We are all feeling pretty exhausted, so sorry for the slow updates and if I haven’t had a chance to reply to anyone, we’ll get there ♥️

An update on Dylan’s progress from his mum Sarah:

Great news yesterday! Dylan’s bone marrow results came back and the first cycle of chemo is working! He remains at “standard risk”. Although the battle is far from over - it’s promising results so far. We’ll take that as a win for round one 👊🏼. Starting round two of chemo today. Keep going bubba 🌟 xx
