Earthquake victims in Turkey need your support

The news from Türkiye (Turkey) and neighbouring countries has devastated us all.

On the 6th of February, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Gaziantep, Turkiye at 4 am local time.

Thousands have lost their lives and many more are feared dead or displaced.

It is the most destructive earthquake in recent times. Initial estimates put the lives lost at 20,000.

While many people have lost loved ones, their homes, and their communities, hope is never lost.

As a Turkish New Zealander who has called Aotearoa home for over a decade, I believe it is time to stand in solidarity with the people of Türkiye.
