Ecuador & Galapagos Expedition - Zoe Ballinger & Taygan Rowlinson - December 2020

Hi, I am step-mum to Taygan Rowlinson (left) and mum to Zoe Ballinger (right) whom both girls attend Hamilton Girls High School.

The girls have been selected to travel as part of an Expedition team of 25 girls to travel to Ecuador & Galapagos in December 2020 for 3 weeks.

As parents, we see this as a once in a lifetime opportunity for our daughters to challenge themselves, embrace the world beyond their school, family and friends and develop skills of leadership, resilience and mindfulness. The expedition is an opportunity for Zoe and Taygan to develop life-long skills which starts today, through comprehensive training courses they will begin, budgeting and a great deal of preparation.

Through the Expedition, Zoe and Taygan will be given opportunities to contribute hands-on towards community projects aligned with UN Global Goals. The projects are based in the Andean villages or in west coast communities where their involvement will include renovation, construction and community development. They will be immersed in the local culture. They will participate in treks either through the Amazon Jungle and/or valleys through the Andes Mountain Range. There will be opportunities to discover the wildlife on the Galapagos islands that are hard to find elsewhere in the world.

Zoe and Taygan are part of our younger generation for the future of our world. They are both passionate and loving, and have a desire in life to succeed both in their own rights as young independent women.
