A truckload of plastic enters the oceans every minute. This equates to up to 12.7 million tonnes every year.

While plastic usage is declining, a major part of the problem is being overlooked; the ever-popular plastic wrap. In almost every restaurant, cafe, home and bakery a roll of this handy but detrimental wrap exists.
My name is Brooke Moore, and it is my pleasure to introduce you to WRAPT - a 100% edible, allergy-friendly, biodegradable plastic wrap alternative! Wrapt strives to amplify the fun, flavour and colour of wrapped food while helping to save the earth. The product looks and feels identical to plastic wrap, but with a major difference. It's made from agar agar, a nutritious setting agent derived from seaweed. Agar agar aids weight loss, bone health, brain health and digestion, to name a few, and is suitable for vegans and those with allergies.
My idea needs to be licensed to another company before I can upscale and produce large amounts of the wrap to replace plastic. However the money required is much more than I could possibly come up with myself.
I am the CEO of Wrapt - an edible, biodegradable plastic wrap alternative!
The money will be spent on patenting. Any surplus will be spent on marketing to spread awareness of the plastic crisis and how Wrapt can help.
In the unlikely event that things don't go to plan, the money will be used for further product development.
