Help raise money for vet fees for Effa who tragically died at the NZMHA Nationals in Hawera this week.

We are putting up a givealittle page to help raise money for vet fees for Effa who tragically died at the NZMHA Nationals in Hawera this week. Effa's owners travelled to Hawera with her, full of Hope and excitement for NZMHA Nationals. She had done so well at the AIM Nationals a little earlier and they were looking forward to trying to replicate that at this show. Alas, that was not meant to be. Effa suffered a bout of colic whilst at the Hawera showgrounds early Saturday morning. Her owners spared no expense to get her right but, despite the dedicated support and unwaivering efforts of two wonderful vets, her owners had to make the difficult decision to release her from her suffering on Sunday morning.
Those who knew Effa will know what a wonderful life she had and how much she was loved and cared for. Adjusting to life without her is going to be difficult and a loss to the miniature world. Many of us are used to seeing photos of her multiple achievements from each show she attended. It is heartbreaking that Effa died, but to have died at a National show makes it an even greater blow for her owners. Travelling home without her will have been so hard. She will be missed by many, especially by. Louie, her long term paddock mate who has been with her since they were foals.
Many have asked to contribute to the costs of Effa's care by the vets at the showgrounds...it struck a chord with all miniature owners that this heartache could have been theirs and want to show their support to Jeannette and Nikki who we know are heartbroken at this time. I hope they remember the good times they had and take some comfort in the fact that, in her relatively short time on earth, Effa had the most wonderful life - full of love and attention.

All monies raised will go towards supporting the Bancrofts with the costs incurred in treating Effa. Should there be any excess, this will be donated to a fund to support other miniature horses requiring vetinary care.
