Auckland
Hi my name is Ethan Roots I'm 17 and a year 13 student at Rosmini College on Aucklands' beautiful North Shore. I work part time as a Barista at BP Dairy Flat. I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu daily and train for competitions local and International for many months of the year. As the New Zealand Grappler Mens National No-GiChampion and current Maori Mens National Champion I have gone as far as I can here in New Zealand. Thanks to d3 tape, Oliver MMA, my family, and the community - I was able to travel to Australia last year to compete in the biggest Oceanic Championship. The Pan Pacific Jiu Jitsu Championships were held in Melbourne and it was my privilege to represent my Country and win the No-Gi title in my age and weight category.
As Jiu Jitsu is my passion I am lucky to train and fight the sport has given me so much, confidence, fitness, self defence and so much more. I train at Oliver MMA under Steve Oliver in Albany, Glen Eden and in Manukau, South Auckland with an awesome team/family. Anything I learn goes back into the club and the grappling community and will benefit so many more people than just myself. I will be able to provide current info for the Coaches, fighters and children. In Jiu Jitsu its often said you win or you learn I have had a good mixture of both in my career and I am grateful for whatever I receive. We receive no financial assistance to represent NZ thanks for taking the time to learn more about me. I am very thankful for any support you can offer, thank-you so much.
