Baby Eklavya born with Congenital High airway Obstructive syndrome

Congenital high airway obstruction syndrome (CHAOS) is a very rare fetal malformation caused by obstruction of fetal airway.

This was caused by Eklavya being born with a Narrow air way.

He has a size 3 shirley Tracheostomy tube which helps him to breathe. Without this, he will not be able to breath on his own.

His tube is changed weekly to prevent blockage and needs to be done fast as he stops breathing without it and the hole that the tube is inserted in, can quite easily close while changing.

He spends alot of time in mums arms, as the tube can be easily pulled out.

Mum and dad are unable to take Exlavya out to the beach, pools or anything you would hope to take your child out to due to anything he may catch.

They also need to carry an emergency bag on them at all times.

When he is 2 years old, there is a high possibility they will be able to operate to help this condition.

Both mum and dad have just recently had to deal with almost losing baby Eklavya due to the hole closing up enough to not be able to get the next tube in.

He was rushed off to hospital where he spent days before being transported to starship where they operated to extend the hole to change over the tube.

Exlavya was discharged but ended up back in hospital a day later with broncilitis.

He is very fragile with the colder weather and seems to need more suction to prevent blockage.

Dad has only being at his job for 3 months and therefore is unable to be paid for the time he needs to be taking off due to Eklavya being sick.

We would love help to support this family to take off the financial stress and burden while needing to take care of Exlavya and not to worry about the days needed to take of from work because Exlavya is at his worse.
