Please help Eli get to Philadelphia to have assessments and to give his folks more training in his programme which are helping Eli to move.

Marlborough

Our little boy began a home based therapy programme only 6months ago when he was completely immobile...Eli is now beginning to crawl!! We are fundraising to go to Philadelphia in the States to learn the next part of Eli's therapy that will ultimately get him walking.

It is a programme designed by the team at the 'Institutes of Achievement in Human Potential' and founded by Glenn Doman.

It avoids conventional methods that are commonly used to help kids diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy that often involve Botox injections and many operations to change the function of there body. We want to avoid these at all costs where possible and know that we can do this through this programme.

Our goal is to see Eli walking in three years... We attended a series of lectures in Melbourne recently and met with families who have either completed the three year course or who are part of the programme at present. The results spoke for themselves and confirmed to Dylan and I that this was the programme we need to help get Eli walking.

As this programme is over three years and each six months we need to go to Philadelphia we will only continue to do the programme and fundraising if we see and get the results. But we believe we will.

The money raised will be used specifically to pay for Dylan, Eli and my flights, accomodation, food, travel to and from the treatment centre and the cost of the five day medical examination and training needed to complete the programme at home.

This programme treats the brain injury not the symptoms so Dylan and I will be taught the therapies to get Eli's brain working and functioning better to help it learn to recreate the pathways. We know that the 'Brain Grows By Use' so we are positive that we will begin to see results quite quickly.

We will update this page and Eli's Facebook page to document his progress.

We thank you in advance for your support.

Kind regards

Dylan and Rochelle

Kia ora,

Dylan and I (Rochelle) are Eli's folks, we have been working alongside Eli with his programme.

We are whole heartedly invested in our wee mans programme and in 6 months we have watched Eli go from being completely immobile to beginning to crawl in the past 2 weeks. It has taken help from our local community (Kaikoura) and the wider community to make this happen.

We ask that you continue to support Eli's progress through donating...We only have 3 weeks until we leave for Philadelphia in the USA so we appreciate every bit of help we can get.

We want to thank everyone who is helping to make this programme possible.

HARDWORK gets RESULTS!!!!  4 November 2015

We have been doing Eli's programme for exactly 6 months today!

6months ago Eli was completely IMMOBILE...if we laid him on the floor he could not move, he could not sit up unaided or use his right arm and he had restricted movement in the left side of his body and right leg. Eli's eyes darted around as he could not converge on objects and he sounded like Dath Vadar when he tried to breathe...Eli was not in good shape.

We are excited to say that after just 6months of hard work, 6 volunteers each day, 7 days a week, all helping us with Eli, he can now do the following:

Eli can commando crawl anywhere in our house, he can sit up unaided, he can move his right arm and open his wee hand, Eli can breathe a lot clearer, he has full movement in the left side of his body with a lot more movement in his right. Eli's eyes have straightened up and he has full vision in both eyes, Eli is verbalising 10 - 20 words and in the last 2 weeks has began to crawl!!!

We know the programme we are doing with our son is working and we are off to the states in 3 weeks to have Eli assessed and to be retrained for the next 6 months of Eli's programme!

We are very excited and have so much HOPE now for Eli's future!

In this picture it shows Eli sitting up unaided...6 months ago Eli could not support his own weight...now look at him, AMAZING!!!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
