I have been given the chance to make a dream come true - please help me get to Rio so I can row for New Zealand.
Auckland
I was recently selected in the New Zealand U19 Rowing team to compete in the Junior World Rowing Championships in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil on the 5-9 August 2015.
Making the Junior team was a goal I set for myself at the end of last season and I am very happy the extra training and hard work have paid off. I am excited to represent my country and experience the next level of challenges in my rowing.
The Junior team will come together from the 7th June living at Lake Karapiro and will train out of the New Zealand Rowing High Performance Centre. While training for Rio will be the main focus, I will also be attending St Peters Cambridge to keep up with my NCEA Level 2 studies. We leave for Rio on the 31st July.
I would appreciate your support in helping me get to Rio. The travel costs are $6318 and $1900 for living expenses while at Karapiro. I would be grateful for any donation - big or small.
For my part, I will keep you updated on my training and racing.
Thanks again for your support,
Ella x
