1 in 3 people will experience mental health in their lifetime, we want to grow our current service to deliver emergency support on Waiheke.

Waiheke Island, Auckland

Currently there is no emergency mental health respite care available on Waiheke. WISH TRUST already provide 11 beds for long term support and recovery.

If you or your family member needs practical, professional mental health and addiction, housing recovery and support and are lucky enough to find funding, you will end up somewhere in Auckland.

We want to change that so that people in distress or need of professional mental health assistance and care can get it, right here on Waiheke and be near family, loved ones and support networks when they need it the most.

We also want to be able to support the local heroes who already look after family to have a break by being able to provide respite care and temporary housing as this is also not currently available on Waiheke.

We are currently waiting for council consents to allow us to build a facility and provide 2-3 rooms and all the care needed to support people in our waiheke community when they really need it.

WISH Trust is a practical, active charity that supports people with mental health challenges to live their best lives in their own community. We provide all aspects of housing, food, and mental health support to work with tangata whaiora to achieve success

Use of funds

We will spend every dollar on developing and building 3-4 new respite and emergency mental health recovery and support rooms and services on Waiheke so that we can respond to the calls for help we always get.
